Why are we switching billing companies?

Recently ista North America was bought out by YES Energy Management.  When that purchase happened we were informed that YES would no longer be able to provide us with the billing services we require.  In researching other billing companies we concluded that American Conservation and Billing (AmCoBi) would supply the best customer service to our residents and meet all of our requirements.

Who do I contact if I have a question about my bill?

Please contact AmCoBi directly:

Toll-free: (877) 410-0167 x 2

E-mail: ClientCare@AmCoBi.com

What are the business hours of AmCoBi?

Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm PST

What are my payment options?

Payments can be made via money order, physical check, electronic check or automatic withdrawal

Can I use a credit card to pay my bill?

You will no longer be able to pay with a credit card, this will save unnecessary credit card fees.  As an alternative, we will now be accepting electronic checks, which offer the same convenience and ease of payment as credit cards but do not carry any transaction fees.

How do I pay my bill with a physical check or money order?

Make checks out to AmCoBi and send physical payments to:

AmCoBi

P.O. Box 51280

Colorado Springs, CO 80949-1356

Can I receive an electronic copy of my bill?

Yes, you can receive an e-mail message every month with a link to a copy of your bill.  This service also stores a history of previous utility bills.

How do I pay my bill electronically or view my bill online?

  1. Go to: www.AmCoBi.com
  2. Select the eBill/ePay link on the home page
  3. Follow the instructions

If you have any difficulty with this process, please call AmCoBi at the phone number above.

I am a Canadian, how can I pay my bill?

We can only take physical checks from our Canadian customers.  As long as your check has “US Funds” on it it will be accepted.  The check can be written on a Canadian bank.  Under our current system there will be no fees for these checks.

The first AmCoBi (American Conservation and Billing) bills have reached many mailboxes.  The bills are accurate, though not without glitches:

  1. Utility usage is very clear, however the total amount owed for each utility is not totaled.  For example, you will need to add up all of the charges that say ‘electric’ in order to get your total electric cost.
  2. Some will notice overlapping printing issues.
  3. The May gate code is not clearly differentiated from the rate tiers.
  4. The boxes on the bottom-middle of the bill will show a graph of utility usage month on future billings.
  5. Sky Valley West rates were calculated corrected, however the rate tier info is incorrect.

We expect to have these glitches corrected for next month.  In addition, we would greatly appreciate any feedback you can give us regarding the bills and how they can be improved (760-329-2909 ext. 2 or info@skyvalleyresorts.com).

The bills will be going out in tomorrow’s mail.
We apologize for how late this is. Once we are through this transition we anticipate the bills being sent out much earlier in the month.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we work to improve our service to you.

Maintenance staff has begun aerating the turf areas around the resort. This task helps to replenish air to the root zone of the turf grass, which in turn, allows the plant to efficiently utilize the nutrients that will be applied after aerating. This will help to make the grass turn green.

Oleanders Along Site 342

A Subcontractor will be removing the oleanders at the back of site 342 that boarders the entry drive.  These oleanders grow up to 20 feet tall.  Maintenance will be re-landscaping 342 with more appropriate landscaping for the area.  Maintenance will not be removing other oleander hedges in the area.

The Sky Valley Front Office is open at 12 PM to 4 PM, Monday thru Saturday.

To Residents:

As of yesterday YES is no longer taking payments for your annual bills.  If you have not made your payment yet this month don’t panic.

Over the next few days we will be transferring the balances of your bills to AmCoBi’s system.  Please do not contact AmCoBi with questions about your bill till around the 23rd of April as during the transition they may not be able to supply you with the answer.

We understand that some people will not be able to pay their bill on time this month.  We will not be charging late fees.  Thank you for your patience.

Rattle snakes have been reported in and around Sky Valley Resort.  They reportedly seem most active after five at night or in the early mornings – hiker’s and dogs beware, keep your dogs leashed.

For more information  http://www.thurmanarnold.com/Blog2/2011/April/Announcing-Rattlesnake-Season-as-Officially-Open.aspx

or come to the front office and pickup a “Wildlife Awareness” handout.

This time of year, the cool weather grass (Rye) begins to die off and is replaced by the warm weather grass (Bermuda) which comes out of hibernation naturally when the weather warms.  During this time, expect patches of the lawns to appear like they are dying or not getting enough water.  We will address those areas and will inspect the lawns weekly as we head towards summer.
